Saturday Race Tips – Sandown

R1 – Right you are looks to make it 4 wins from his last 4 starts for the Maher/Eustice camp. This race looks to be a harder assignment than his previous races however, he just simply looks the best horse here. Former Melbourne Cup Winner, Vow and Declare has been in the money when fresh up here previously

Tip – Right you are – $1.70

R2 – Shuffle Dancer resumes after a 35 day break, previously placing in 4 of her last 4 races with 2 wins, in fine form. Laced Up Heels should appreciate the rise in trip. Typically races well second-up. In her last run, was near last on turn before finishing strongly and only behind the winner by 1.5 lengths. She’s Licketysplit should also enjoy the rise in trip.

Tip – Laced Up Heels -$6.50

R4- Rich Fortune looks to make it a hattrick of wins after wins at Sandown and Moonee Valley. Her last race saw her drive late so rise in distance shouldn’t be a problem. Godolphin owned, Spacewalk should be better after his two previous runs, chances only get better with Jamie Kah onboard for the ride, expect to race on speed. Sebonack couldn’t quite get there in his last race, should be better here with a short rise in trip.

Tip – Spacewalk -$3.80

Roughie – Sebonack – $16/3.90

R5 –  Plenty of chances here in this race. You can forgive Pericles last time up, he was caught wide throughout and tempo really did not suit his style. Will only be better this time up with Kah aboard. Hennessy Lad impressed in his last race, getting stronger as the race went on, should do the same here. Best value this race is easily Ausbred Rising Sun.  Took a while to get there in his last race but once he did, he ran away quickly, winning by 2L.

Tip – Ausbred Rising Sun – Each way – $8.00/2.50

R6 – Geelong Cup winner Emissary returns from a spell and has won previously when first up. Great to see the 2022 Melbourne Cup winner Gold Trip return to the races aswell. Placed recently at Cranbourne trial and looks in good order. Has the class above the others but does 1800m on a firm track suit?

Tip – Emissary – $4.70

R7 – Blue Diamond Stakes – Wide open race this one with plenty of capable winners. Barber looks to make it 4 wins from just as many races second run back. Should be around the mark. Brave Halo  was unlucky in his previous race, having zero luck in the straight, wide draw might actually suit and keep him out of trouble early. If Don Corleone is anywhere near his best, he should be figuring in the top 4.

Tip – Brave Halo – $7.50

Roughie – Don Corleone – $11.00

R8 – Futurity Stakes – Stars aplenty in this 6-horse race. I’m Thunderstruck just missed when heavily backed last start at Sandown Hillside when fresh and rates highly with Jamie Kah retaining the ride, high class horse, but only 1 win since 2021. Great to see Alligator Blood back at the races for Waterhouse and Bott. Resuming after a 16 week spell and is a proven first up winner, winning 3 from 6 starts. Mr Brightside looks to be feeling just fine, finishing with real purpose in his last start. Expect him to open up some eager eyes and be a danger here.

Tip – Alligator Blood – $3.80
