R2: A few stand outs here. The 4yo stallion Glory Daze out of the Maher/Eustice stable aims to go three wins from his past 3 races. Sir Lucan had his first run in 18 months last start and managed to finish ahead of the rest, should be even better today. Almania has been consistent over his past 5, finishing with 3 placings and a win from last 5 starts.
Tip – #1 – Sir Lucan -$3.20
R4: Love the look of Pericles, third-up today and coming off a comfortable win at Sandown in his last start, this prep has had this race in mind throughout and should prove tough to beat. Elliptical is well-placed and third-up today, has placed previously when third-up. Matcha Latte will appreciate fewer horses in this race, struggled to get out in the G1 Randwick Guineas. Manzoice is a chance at odds here after finding the line well in his last start.
Tip – #5 – Pericles – $2.60
R5: Hugh Bowman jumps on Spacewalk, which has been smashed in the betting $8 into $5, handy barrier draw and should prove hard to beat. Economics will only be better after his last start and J-Mac on board for the ride should help chances. Fair few chances at odds here as well, Opal Ridge has previously won when first up over the distance. Sacred Sonto has a good barrier and drops in grade.
Tip – #14 – Opal Ridge – $12/3.60 (EW)
R6: Melbourne Cup winner Gold Trip has returned in good order and will be better for his previous run, the class horse in the race. Mo’Unga has been impressive against quality horses without winning and proves a big danger here. Dubai Honour should get forward early and could be a place chance.
Tip – #1 – Gold Trip – $3.90
R7: Plenty of quality horses in this race. If Anamoe is at his best, he simply wins here. Fangirl has been impressive recently, finishing behind Anamoe in last few starts but found the line extremely well in last start. Artorius should give this a red-hot crack and wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the top 2.
Tip – #1 – Anamoe – $1.90
R8: Plenty of chances here as to be expected with the prize money on offer. Cylinder has been drawn extremely well but $3.20 is a bit short for my liking. Don Corleone rates highly and with Hugh Bowman on board is more than a chance at decent odds. Platinum Jubilee had an extremely impressive trial recently and if he can find the lead will prove tough to run down.
