R3: Wide open race this one. Versetto comes in here from a 37 day let-up and Callan Murray onboard only increases chances. Kenyan Wonder won at decent odds last start at Morphetville and should be solid again here. Bubble Over has placed in its last 6 races and is expected to run well again here after winning in Murray Bridge. Eyes Never Lie is usually strong when second up and Jason Holder on board for the ride only increases chances.
Tip: #8 – Eyes Never Lie – $7.50/2.40 *** Edit – Late Scratching
New Selection – #4 – Versetto – $5.00
R4: The 2yo Filly Tiz Enuf won by 2 lengths in first start at Sale, is drawn perfectly here and should prove hard to beat. Zelta looks like a nice type out of Snitzel for Waterhouse and Bott, has trialled well in the lead up, makes her debut today. I Am Immaculate is on debut and hasn’t been seen at trials yet, watch the money late. The Lispers nightmare that is Shesallsshenigans gave nothing else a chance when breaking its maiden in its last start at Bendigo.
Tip: #1 – Tiz Enuf – $2.80
R5: Beltoro has had significant time up and should be due for a spell after this, was a solid second against Right You Are two back who has been in outstanding form recently. Dalasan is the great unknown here, his best is probably the best in the field but has had his problems, most recently behind the gates at Flemington. En Francais looks to make it 3 from 3 here, had an easy run in it’s last start here and destroyed them when the time came. Disagreeable Miss is a chance at odds, coming off a win at this course.
Tip: #9 – En Francais – $4.80
Roughie: #8 – Disagreeable Miss – $15/3.50 (EW)
R6: The 4-year-old mare Philonize looks like the one to beat here as she looks to make it 4 wins from just as many starts. Kemelpasa has won 3 from 9 when on a softer track and isn’t without a chance. Calypso Reign is second-up and placed at last start in Mooney Valley, should be fitter and better here. Another Award loves Morphettville and rates highly with Jason Holder on board for the ride.
Tip: #11 – Philonize – $2.70
R7 – Adelaide Cup: Persan has drifted since Kah’s unfortunate injury on Saturday. Good horse regardless and not without a chance. Grand Promenade only just missed when heavily backed last start and has won 7 of 12 when starting as a favourite. Ever since the odds come out, I loved the look of Highland Jakk with Teo Nugent aboard, attempting to go back-to-back. Aurora’s Symphony will look to make it 3 wins on the trot third-up here, has never placed at this track and distance however.
Tip: #8 Highland Jakk – $6.50
Roughie: #11 – True Marvel – $14/4.20 (EW)
R8: The 3yo Gelding Dashing has won 2 of 3 as favourite and comes off an impressive win at Sandown recently. Stonecoat is third-up here and prefers the 1600m with 1 win and a second coming at this distance. Has a wide draw but should have the speed to overcome. Easterly is fresh off its maiden win and should be full of confidence here, no Kah onboard however. Thirsty Guest is a chance at odds while he aims for 3 wins from just as many starts.
Tip: #2- Stonecoat – $6.00
R9: Taunting looks extremely hard to beat in this race but hasn’t been seen since Champions Day at Flemington, enjoys Morphettville with 2 wins and a place from 3 starts and has trialled extremely well. Siyata’s best is well and truly good enough, didn’t have anything to give last start but smashed the field in her race prior at Murray Bridge. Hongbao has a great record over the track and distance, winning 3 from 5 here.
Tip: #2 – Taunting – $2.15
